things ive learned
Today is day one. I started working out again, finally!!! it felt good too. i got up on the wagon that i fell off of and i feel good about it. excercising and watching what i eat again!! I also saw a nutritionist, as a part of my requirements for surgery. to my surprise i only had to see her once, but she did say i could come back at any time to see her or call if i had any questions. she reviewed the guidelines with me about what i can and can not have following surgery! some of the basics for after the surgery...*consume 45-60 grams of protein everyday, *no added sugar to anything. no candy or sweets, soda of any kind, *little to no alcohol, *calcium tablets and mulitvitamins, *can not drink 30 min before or after eating, *chew all food extremely well (with the band on the opening is tiny), *water, * NO GUM! right after the surgery i will be on clear liquids for a week and every week it will increase to full liquids, then pureed, then soft...by then its almost two months after the surgery and i should be able to eat normal food. this may seem extreme to some..but i already do some of these, drinking lots of water and taking vitamins...the gum and soda part will be extremely hard, but ill just have to ween myself off the diet soda before hand...i don't even drink that much diet soda anyway...but never again is wow for me. this is going to be a huge change for me but i know i can do it and i know it will keep me healthy and well and happy! www.lapband.com
